Rumors of the Valley

  • The Grape is seen packing a few things as if preparing for some trip. He then makes his way off, evidently not quite ready to leave, but it would seem his presence will be missing from the valley for some time.

//Sorry guys, gonna be out of town this week. //

  • Juster is overheard telling Drem to keep her eyes and ears open because it seems orcs may soon be wandering the plains once more. He then goes on to explain an encounter they had on the plains which involved more than one catapault and an ambush. Have the orcs risen again?

  • Rumour has it the hins will be having a big housewarming shindig for Juster up on the hill south of town. BYOB

  • Juster arrives in the valley for the first time in some time looking tired and dirty, yet happy to be home none the less. He heads up the hill where he stays and rests for… wait, he's still there.

  • The Halfling Defence League

Gears has seemingly disappeared from the Silver Valley overnight. His bedroll no longer occupies a space by Ginger's camp, and his bleach blond personage darkens her tent's doorstep no more. Nor is he to be seen anywhere in the entirety of the Valley.

  • _Despite the rumours of Riama being a Cyric worshipper and Peppy being half-troll, the smallfolk community buries their two fallen sisters as heroes with a traditional halfling ceremony. Urogalan accepts the bodies into his earth, and daisies are planted on the graves.

Some hins whisper that they saw a black dog howling at the edge of the valley the night the two were slain._

  • Albryanna stands by as the two hin are carried back, showing no emotion on her face, but saddened at the loss of two more innocent lives.

  • Tragically, the mage Peppy and accomplished performance artiste Riama have fallen whilst helping the tallfolk get rid of the dragon threatening the area. There is talk of commemorative statues for the sacrifice of these brave and good hin.

  • All of a sudden it seems as if Juster is walking on air. The spring has returned to his step and a happy smile once more lays on his lips. The dreary attitude which plagued him for so long now seems to be gone, appearing happier then ever.

  • The smallfolk crafters have recently begun a new woodworking project. They've been hammering together boards to create large, sturdy platforms - apparently the sort of thing you can lay across a moat. One hin is heard to remark "We're going to need more boards."

  • Dentin inspects those siege engines that come out of the crafting hall carefully, for any errors that might have been overlooked, before assigning them to the necessary positions along the line, or sending them to the Legion headquarters when there is no immediate use for them. It seems that with three different groups now producing siege equipment, there will be more than enough to support the entirety of the line, as well as provide seperate ones to use against the dragon. But who will man all these engines?

  • Sudoc, the gnomish siege engineer of Gond, offers to oversee and aid in the construction of the siege weaponry.

  • Rumours quickly circulate of a hobgoblin walking inside the valley and holding a brief conversation with a small group of hins before one hin ran off, only to return later being followed by a halforc. While the hins didn't seem to keen on the halforc being there at first it seems he soon became welcome as he began to speak to the hob for them. It is said that the group then walked west into the woods where they were gone for nearly a day. The group was then seen entering the valley being lead by the same hob, the latter of which turned and headed back into the woods without saying anything to the hins. A few words were mentioned of the council and the group split up, some going to bed and others sprinting out of the valley as the sounds of drums were heard echoing through the pass.

  • Now that the union hall in Jiyyd is open for Norwick refugees, the Silver Valley tradehall is busy with noisy ballista and catapult construction. The hall is closed to tallfolk, but donations of lumber and ore are readily accepted and used towards building siege weapons for the Jiyyd and Norwick war effort.

  • Valley residents welcome the smallfolk Norwick refugees. Campsites around the valley and the Stout Fellow swell with displaced Norwickers. The refugees are met with plenty of fresh food and halfling ale, then are settled into their makeshift homes.

  • Our elvish watcher is still a familiar spectre on the edges of town. She seems to take a particular interest in the goings of the matronly woman, the one identified as beloved of the Keeper…

  • A number of bedraggled refugees led by a matronly woman with warm, brown eyes, a gnome, and a golem dragging a cart makes its way to the Emerald Tower and fills up some of the rooms that have become empty or relegated to storage over the years. No sooner are the contents of the cart moved into the tower than the refugees are about the town, helping with the refugees and the defenses.

  • After days of fighting off orcs and giants a tired Juster returns to the valley in the middle of the night for some well earned rest. It seems that once more the Silver Dragoons played a role in keeping the town safe and keeping evil from touching the valley. He then laid next to the lake watching the sky, where he slept until late into the next morning.

  • General Theaon Thorn of the Legion can be seen speaking with Ginger, Gonnar, and a few other kin folk near the trees where the hobgoblins attacked the Valley. From what can be heard, it sounds like Theaon wants to solve this problem before a full scale war with the orcs start.
