Through my years playing Green and Lyte I've shed many a real tear over fantasy characters and their comings and goings, and being a creative sort of person with a very active imagination, I tend to sometimes think of the people behind the characters by their creations personas and names- I just can't help it.
I interacted a lot with Summoner's two characters over the years- but seldom OC with the man behind the curtain. Even so, I got the sense that here was a very caring- a nurturing sort of human being who always took the time to think before he spoke, and who tried his best to accomodate my own characters sense of moral dignity. He was someone who would make the same effort with very young newbs as he would with old friends. You could feel his- maturity or perhaps wisdom expand in later years. Probably the knowledge of his own mortality added extra sensitivity to what are often years that are filled with a feeling of invincibilty and youth.
Both Narfell and our real world are lesser places without him, though, it would seem from the wide and heartfelt response here, that our friend will never be truly gone from this little virtual world, for he has carved out a legendary place in each of our hearts.
Summoner's magic was of the sort that is never extinguished.
